Md. Mamunur Rashid joined at Stamford University Bangladesh on 17 January 2009 as a Lecturer. He has been promoted to the position of ‘Assistant Professor’ on March 09, 2013. Currently, he is performing the role of Head of Accounting & Information Systems. He is now pursuing his PhD (Final year) on Strategic Management Accounting in the Department of Accounting & Information Systems of University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has passed CMA final examination-December 2014 from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). Currently, he is a fellow member (FCMA) of ICMAB (Membership Number F-1045). He is working as a member of taxation committee at ICMAB from 2017 and actively participated in reviewing the curriculum of ICMA 2020-2021. He is also working as a reviewer of the journal of the Institute ‘THE COST AND MANAGEMENT’. He also passed BBA and MBA major in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Rajshahi (Bangladesh). He has been awarded with the Agrani Bank Gold Medal for securing the first position in the Faculty of Business Studies in both BBA (Honors) and MBA program. He also secured a position in the Deans Merit list in BBA and both the Deans Merit list and Deans Honors list in MBA. He has published 15 research papers in a number of reputed national and international journals [e.g., Scopus indexed, Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) ranked, Scimago ranked, and The Chartered Association of Business School-CABS (UK) ranked journals] including Journal of Accounting & Organizational Change, Corporate Governance, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies, and Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting.
Recently, he has been awarded a research grant from ICMAB for working on a project titled “Healing the economic injuries caused by deadly Covid-19 pandemic”.
Mr. Md. Rashid has been teaching in a range of accounting areas like corporate financial reporting, corporate tax planning, advanced financial accounting, business taxation, principles of accounting, managerial accounting, auditing etc. He works in many committees in the Department and University such as question moderation committee, examination monitoring committee, routine committee, Curriculum revision committee, journal committee etc. He is competent in supervising dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, he is working in the editorial panel of the Stamford Journal of Business Studies.
