Md. Aftab Uddin
Assistant Professor & Acting Chairman
Department of Microbiology

Overview:

Mr. Md. Aftab Uddin is working as an Assistant Professor and Acting Chairman in the Department of Microbiology, Stamford University Bangladesh. He joined in this department on 8th January, 2008 as a Lecturer and promoted to Senior Lecturer in December, 2010. He got the position of Assistant Professor in June, 2013. Before that he worked as a Research Fellow, in ICDDR, B from December 2005 to November, 2007.

Since his joining in the department, he has been conducting theory and lab courses besides guiding research students. His fields of interest in research are metagenomic analysis, molecular microbiology, clinical microbiology, environmental microbiology, food microbiology, medical microbiology, diagnostic microbiology and quality control of food, fish and beverages. In addition he also worked as the departmental program coordinator and as a dedicated team member of the university proctorial body. Currently he is pursuing his Ph.D Degree (part-time) in the Department of Microbiology, Jahangirnagar University.

 

He has 36 published articles in both local and international peer reviewed journals. Besides he is also actively involved in reviewing scientific scholarly articles in different local and international peer reviewed journals.
