Md. Mahbub Alam joined Stamford UniversityBangladesh as a lecturer at the Department of Economics, in February 2023.He completed his BSS and MSS degrees in Economics in 2016 and 2017 from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Tangail, Bangladesh. He started his career as a Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration atthe Asia Institute of Cambodia in 2021. Prior joining Stamford UniversityBangladesh, he worked as a Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration at Daffodil International University and the Department of CSE at Uttara University respectively.
His research interests are in the field of Macroeconomic Economics,Econometric Analysis, Time series and panel analysis, International trade, Trade and Environment, Growth and Development, etc. He continues to conduct research on various topics under the macroeconomics and environmentalas well as natural resources economics fields. He has strong presentation, communication, team building, and leadership skills. He is very skilled in statistical, econometric, time series, and panel analysis of data. He is a Co-Moderator at the Stamford Economics Students Forum (SESF), a student group at Stamford University Bangladesh, where he is aiming to establish a pool of youth with knowledge and experience for a better society.
Mr. Alam is a competent academician having 9 Scopus-indexed and peer-reviewed international journalsand 5 conference papers.Besides, he has presented at several workshops, webinars, seminars, and conferences athome and abroad.In addition to co-authoring high-quality research papers, Mahbub Alam serves as a Reviewer of a Scopus-indexed journal—Energy and Environment (Publisher: SAGE Publication) —from May 2020 and South Asian Journal of Business Studies (Publisher: Emerald Publication) —from July 2020. He has proficient to use SPSS, Eviews, R,and STATA in conducting both academic and policy research.
