Muhammad Mosharrof Hossain is serving at Stamford University Bangladesh as an Associate Professor and Coordinator in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies. He joined Stamford University Bangladesh in 2008 as a Lecturer and became Assistant Professor in 2012 and Associate Professor in 2024. Before joining SUB, he spent more than a year as a Sub-Editor at Dainik Amader Shomoy and Research Associate at Bangladesh Center for Development, Journalism and Communication (BCDJC). He was a Research Fellow of Bangladesh Film Archive.
He obtained BSS (Honors) and MSS Degree from Dhaka University in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism. He secured First Class Second and First Class First Position in the examinations, respectively. Furthermore, He received Masud Khan Gold Medal and Provost Award for obtaining excellent results in his Masters examination. Currently, he is doing Ph.D. at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Jagannath University, Dhaka. In addition, he participated in different workshops and training like Data Journalism, Fact-Checking, Mobile Journalism, Digital Marketing, Visual & Media Anthropology, Economic & Trade Issues for Media Professionals, Advanced Public Affairs Reporting, International Humanitarian Law & Conflict Reporting, Faculty Skill Development under IQAC and so on. He also participated in the Global Media Monitoring Project in 2015. Moreover, he has completed a two-month-long internship Program at the Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS).
Mosharrof is an excellent researcher and has already published ten interesting research articles on film, communication, and media in both Bangla and English language refereed journals. He attended seven International & one National Conference with papers. Besides, he co-authored a research-based book “Evolution of Bangladeshi Film Posters: An Analysis from Art Form to Digital Reproduction” published by the Bangladesh Film Archive. He is also serving as Associate Editor of the Stamford Journal of Media, Communication and Culture (ISSN 2218-5437).
