Md. Nasir Ahmmed Patoary is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science at Stamford University Bangladesh. He earned both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Environmental Science from the same department, achieving remarkable academic success, including the Chairman’s Award for the highest CGPA during his undergraduate studies. He also holds a Diploma in Environmental Engineering from Dhaka Polytechnic Institute.
Prior he served as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science at Stamford University for one and a half years. He also contributed as an Instructor for five years in the internship program organized by the Bangladesh Environmental Engineers Association (BEEA).
With extensive project management expertise, Nasir played a pivotal role as the Field Coordinator for a 64-district noise pollution survey funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. Over the past five years, he has actively participated in various projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology collaborating with National Oceanographic and Maritime Institute and working with the Center for Atmospheric Pollution Studies. Additionally, he has contributed to projects supported by international organizations such as USAID, UKAID, the US Forest Service, and European Climate Foundation.
Mr. Nasir's academic achievements include the publication of eight scientific articles, contributions to three books, and two project report books. He has attended more than 20 conferences, with 10 published abstracts and two proceedings articles, and has authored several op-eds in leading newspapers. His professional development includes completing numerous training programs, equipping him with expertise in Environmental Assessment, Health and Safety, Laboratory Work, GIS, and IT.
Beyond his academic and professional roles, Mr. Nasir excels in organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and other pro-environmental events. His commitment to environmental conservation extends to volunteering with organizations such as the Bangladesh Fire Service Department, Bangladesh PoribeshAndolon (BAPA), PoribeshBachawAndolon (POBA), and other environmental groups, demonstrating his dedication to community service and sustainable development.
