S M Matiur Rahman (ph.d) is working as a Chairman(acting)& Associate Professor
in the department of Film and Media , Stamford University Bangladesh. Mr. Rahman joined in this department on 17 th September,2006 as a Co-Ordinator and promoted to the post of Associate Professor on March 01, 2015. He Conferred Ph.D. degree in Mass Communication Discipline; Title of Thesis: Exploration of Folk elements in Bangladeshi Cinema. Under the supervision of Dr.
Aminul Islam of Jahagirnagar University and co supervisor are Dr. Kaberi Gayen and Dr. Biswajit Gosh of Dhaka University.
S M Matiur Rahman (best known as Matin Rahman) is a National Award winner
filmmaker of Bangladesh. He directed more than 24 feature films and several TV
dramas along with documentary production.
