Areas of Interest
Dr. Shahanara Ferdausi Chowdhury has received her Masters Degree in Theatre from University of Dhaka. She received a Post Graduate Diploma in Theatre and Media for Development from University of Winchester. She then received her PhD in Film from Jahangirnagar University.
Dr. Chowdhury officially joined Stamford University Bangladesh in 2003 and now is working as Associate Professor, where she now engaged in full time teaching, research and administrative responsibility. Previously she worked as Head of Departmental Self Assessment Committee (SAC). Now she is working as a Member of Program Self Assessment Committee (PSAC).
Dr. Chowdhury has been working with many NGOs/INGOs as a Consultant, Facilitator and Actor in the field of Theatre for Development (TFD) and Theatre in Education (TIE) in Bangladesh and UK. She worked with a Community Radio as a Program Producer, News Editor and News Presenter while doing her PGD in UK. She is an enlisted actor with Bangladesh Television (BTV) and worked as an actor in the drama called f~wgKb¨v (Bhumi Kanya). She worked as an actor on stage as well. Dr. Chowdhury directed a drama for television called evev (Baba).
