Saurab Kishore Munshi
Assistant Professor
Department of Microbiology

Currently, Saurab Kishore Munshi is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Stamford University Bangladesh since March, 2016.  He is the coordinator of MS Program and worked as a Communicating Editor in the departmental journal “Stamford Journal of Microbiology” from 2012 to 2018. He is an active member of different departmental committees. He was the member of departmental self-assessment committee. He joined in the University as a Lecturer on May, 2011 and has promoted as Senior Lecturer on November, 2013. He got the position of Senior Lecturer in June, 2013. He previously worked in the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory (NTRL), Bangladesh as a researcher for nearly one and half years.

     Saurab Kishore Munshi completed his B. Sc. (Hons.) and MS in Microbiology from Department of Microbiology, Stamford University Bangladesh. While he was an undergrad student of B. Sc. (Hons.) final year in 2008, he started his research career in the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) in collaboration with Stamford University Bangladesh. There he worked on the detection of diarrheagenic E. coli from surface water. During his MS study, he concentrated to the research on tuberculosis in the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory (NTRL), Dhaka, Bangladesh. After completion of MS degree, he continued his research in NTRL as Research Assistant. He worked there on the various approaches for the detection of drug resistant tuberculosis and published a numbers of papers in reputed journals. Afterwards, during his faculty tenure, he is actively involved in research and is supervising several of research students with a continual output as reflected through his extensive national and international papers.  Overall, he has been involved in microbiological research for 10 years. He has the experience in the fields of infectious diseases, drug-resistance, general microbiology, food microbiology, environmental microbiology & molecular biology and has already published 33 original research and review articles in different reputed international and local journals. He is serving as reviewer of many local and international peer reviewed journals.
