Stamford University Strengthens Quality Assurance Framework at QAC Meeting

Stamford University Bangladesh has reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and institutional transparency through a high-level meeting of its Quality Assurance Committee (QAC), held on campus on Monday.

The meeting was presided over by Prof. Dr. Sharif Nafe AS-Saber, Honorable Vice Chancellor and Chair of the QAC, and attended by all esteemed members of the committee. Discussions centred on a range of strategic academic and administrative priorities aimed at enhancing the university’s quality assurance mechanisms.

A key agenda item was the reconstitution of the Committee for Educational Compliance (CEC), intended to strengthen regulatory alignment and internal oversight. The committee also conducted a comprehensive review of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data for 2024 and agreed on a more structured framework for its submission to ensure consistency and accountability.

In a move to promote academic rigour, the QAC endorsed the implementation of mandatory peer evaluation systems at the departmental level. The committee further reaffirmed English as the official medium of instruction, underscoring its importance in maintaining global academic standards.

Significant progress was also made in finalising the organogram of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), alongside the approval of a dedicated training budget to support capacity development initiatives. These measures are expected to enhance institutional efficiency and professional growth among faculty members.

The meeting also introduced structured faculty mentoring programmes and targeted training initiatives focusing on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), modern pedagogical practices, and language proficiency.

Collectively, the deliberations highlighted Stamford University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its quality assurance culture, promote transparency, and ensure sustained academic excellence.
