Stamford University Bangladesh has officially commenced discussions on a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), marking the first formal step toward establishing an academic partnership between the two institutions.
The inaugural meeting was held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor at Stamford University Bangladesh.
Representing the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences was Professor Abdul Quddus, PhD.
The Stamford University Bangladesh delegation was led by Professor Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber, Vice-Chancellor. Other participants included Professor Dr. Aka. Firowz Ahmad, Academic Adviser and Chairman of the Department of Public Administration; Muhammad Abdul Matin, Registrar; and Mohammad Motaher Hossain, Director of Finance.
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for academic collaboration under the proposed MOU. Discussions covered potential areas of cooperation, including faculty and student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, academic development, and other collaborative activities aimed at strengthening international partnerships.
Both institutions expressed optimism about the prospects of the proposed agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing higher education through global academic cooperation.
The meeting concluded with a shared intention to continue discussions and work toward finalizing the Memorandum of Understanding in the near future.
