With resumes in hand and aspirations for a promising professional future, hundreds of students gathered at Stamford University Bangladesh on Saturday for Career Expo 2026, a daylong event aimed at connecting young job seekers with leading employers and career experts.

The expo, held on October 3, brought together more than 40 local, international, and multinational companies, offering students access to over 1,000 job and internship opportunities across different sectors.

Organized by the Career Counseling and Placement Center (CCPC) of Stamford University Bangladesh, in collaboration with JCI Dhaka Diplomats, JCI Dhaka Heritage, and JCI Dhaka Impact, the event marked one of the university’s largest career-focused initiatives in recent years.

The expo was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Farahnaaz Feroz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Stamford University Bangladesh, and Prof. Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber, Vice Chancellor of the university.

Representatives from more than 40 participating companies joined university officials, faculty members, and students at the opening ceremony.

From the morning, students crowded the recruitment booths set up across the campus, submitting resumes for available positions and internships. Many also spoke directly with human resources professionals and corporate representatives to learn more about recruitment procedures, required skills, workplace expectations, and potential career paths.

The event provided students with an opportunity not only to apply for jobs but also to gain first-hand insight into the demands of the current employment market.

Alongside the recruitment activities, the university arranged a series of career development sessions focusing on banking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and leadership.

The first session, titled “Career in Banking,” was conducted by Shahriar Imran from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by the official opening ceremony from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In the afternoon, Tashdik Habib was scheduled to conduct a session on “Entrepreneurship” from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This was to be followed by Zafir Shafiee Chowdhury’s session on “Career in IT” from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., while Md Altamis Nabil was scheduled to speak on “Leadership Skills” from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Career Expo was scheduled to continue until 5:00 p.m., when the closing ceremony was set to take place.

Organizers said the initiative was designed to go beyond traditional recruitment by creating direct links between university students and the corporate sector.

They said the expo would help students better understand industry expectations, develop professional networks, explore employment opportunities, and identify the skills needed to prepare for an increasingly competitive job market.

For many participating students, the event served as an important platform to take an early step toward their professional careers while gaining direct exposure to employers and industry professionals.
