A session titled “The Journey from Law Student to Legal Professional” was held at the Department of Law, Stamford University Bangladesh, on 15 August 2026, with the aim of inspiring and guiding law students about career opportunities and professional development in the legal field.
The session featured Ms. Fahima Akhter, Judicial Magistrate, Court of the District and Sessions Judge, Munshiganj, as the Guest Speaker. Ms. Akhter is an alumna of the Department of Law, Stamford University Bangladesh, from the 45th Batch.
During the session, Ms. Akhter shared her cherished memories of her student life at Stamford University Bangladesh and spoke about her professional journey from being a law student to becoming a Judicial Magistrate of the Bangladesh Judiciary. Drawing upon her academic and professional experiences, she provided valuable insights into the challenges, opportunities, preparation, and dedication required to build a successful career in the legal profession. Her inspiring journey and practical guidance were particularly valuable for the students aspiring to join the Bangladesh Judiciary and other branches of the legal profession.
The session also provided an opportunity for the students to interact with an alumna who has successfully established herself in the legal profession and to gain a realistic understanding of the transition from university life to professional legal practice.
The programme was presided over by Ms. Istat Jahan Anee, Chairman (Acting), Department of Law, who expressed her appreciation for the Guest Speaker and emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in guiding and motivating the students of the Department.
At the conclusion of the session, Ms. Fahima Akhter was warmly greeted with a floral bouquet as a token of appreciation and respect. The programme concluded with gratitude to the Guest Speaker for sharing her valuable experiences and inspiring the students through her remarkable journey from a law student to a member of the Bangladesh Judiciary.
