A group of students from the 83rd batch of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Stamford University Bangladesh, visited several places in Munshiganj district on June 9, 2026, for their ‘Feature and Creative Writing’ course. The course teacher, Shabnam Zannat, accompanied the students.
The students explored the renowned Idrakpur Fort, a Mughal fortress built by Mir Jumla, and visited the birthplace of Pandit Atish Dipankar, a celebrated Buddhist scholar and philosopher who promoted Buddhism throughout Asia. In addition, they gathered details about the district's distinctive trade in wooden houses, which will be used for their feature stories. They visited the area for its rich historical and economic significance, which plays a key role in shaping Munshiganj's unique identity and prosperity.
