Vice-Chancellor’s Meet & Greet Session with Representatives of Forums & Clubs

Dhaka, 14 May 2026 Stamford University Bangladesh hosted a “Courtesy Meet & Greet Session” with its Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Sharif Nafe As-Saber, at the university auditorium on Thursday.Organised by the Students’ Welfare Office (SWO), the event aimed to inspire and motivate student leaders actively engaged in co-curricular activities across the university.Representatives of the Executive Committee 2026 from various forums and clubs attended the programme, including 17 forum conveners and their respective faculty conveners. Stamford University Bangladesh currently has 18 approved forums and clubs, 17 of which operate under the supervision of the SWO.These organisations regularly arrange training sessions, workshops, meetings and skill development programmes, including CV writing and interview preparation sessions, to strengthen students’ leadership qualities and professional competencies.Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sharif Nafe As-Saber underscored the importance of co-curricular activities in developing competent, responsible and future-ready graduates. He encouraged students to take active leadership roles and contribute positively to both the university and society.The programme was also attended by Shahidul Islam, former Secretary and former Deputy Commissioner of Noakhali District; Professor Dr Muhammad Aziz Rahman, Associate Dean of Research at the Institute of Health and Wellbeing, Federation University, Australia, and Vice President of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA); Professor Dr Ahmed Kamruzzaman Mazumder, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Dr Mrityunjoy Acharjee, Proctor & Associate Professor Department of Microbiology; Mohammad Abdul Matin, Registrar; and Prodeepto Mobarook, Head of the Public Relations Division (PRD).

Speakers noted that the session created an important platform for student representatives to interact directly with the Vice-Chancellor and receive guidance on leadership and personal development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
The programme was conducted by Md Zakiur Rahaman, while the welcome address was delivered by Ms Tamanna Zerin, Adviser to the Students’ Welfare Office.
