Rabindra-Nazrul Memorial Festival 2026 Celebrated in the Capital

The Stamford University Drama Society, with the support of Prada AI and Presents, organised the “Rabindra-Nazrul Memorial Festival 2026” in the capital on May 20 in a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The event featured musical performances, poetry recitations, stage drama and a colourful fashion show, creating a rich cultural ambience. Active participation from students added energy and enthusiasm to the programme, captivating the audience throughout the arrangement.

Professor Dr SM Motin Rahman, chairman of the Department of Film and Media Studies at Stamford University Bangladesh, attended the programme as the chief guest. Teachers of the department were also present at the event.

Among others present were Tania Sultana, convener of the Stamford University Drama Society, and Tamanna Zerin, student welfare adviser.

One of the major attractions of the programme was a comedy performance by Abu Hena Rony, champion of the popular comedy reality show Mirakkel and a master’s student of the Department of Film and Media Studies. His lively performance drew huge applause from the audience.

The festival also included Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, dance performances, drama and a fashion show, making the event more engaging and memorable. The successful arrangement reflected the country’s cultural heritage alongside the creativity and artistic expression of students.
