Stamford Hosts Robotics Innovation Pitch Showcasing Student Ingenuity

Stamford University Bangladesh recently hosted “IdeaTree: Robotics Innovation Pitch”, a campus-wide event that brought together students from diverse academic backgrounds to present technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges.

Organised by the Stamford Robotics Club (SRC), the event transformed the university campus into a vibrant hub of creativity and collaboration. Participants demonstrated a compelling blend of technical expertise and entrepreneurial thinking.

The programme featured a startup-style pitching session in which students assumed the role of founders, presenting their business and innovation ideas before a panel of judges. This segment aimed to develop presentation skills while introducing participants to the dynamics of entrepreneurship.

Alongside the pitching session, a technology exhibition showcased a wide range of projects in robotics and artificial intelligence. Notably, students from non-engineering disciplines also took part, reflecting a growing cross-disciplinary interest in technology-based problem-solving.

A key highlight of the event was the “Mystery Problem Round”, where contestants were challenged to respond to spontaneous scenarios. The round tested participants’ critical thinking and adaptability under pressure, with top performers recognised for their quick analytical responses.

Beyond the competitive elements, the event offered valuable networking opportunities. Students engaged with mentors, judges and guest speakers, gaining insights into current trends in the technology sector.

Awards were presented across three categories-Best Idea, Most Innovative, and Best Practical Use-recognising outstanding contributions. All participants received certificates acknowledging their involvement.

Organisers announced that selected ideas would be considered for further development under SRC’s incubation initiatives, providing students with continued support to transform their concepts into practical applications.

University officials and organisers described the event as a significant step towards fostering an innovation-driven culture on campus, encouraging students to explore technology, entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary collaboration.
