Dhaka: The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Stamford University Bangladesh has been awarded accreditation by the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) for a period of six years. The accreditation, effective from 7 September 2025, is being regarded as a significant recognition of the programme’s alignment with international academic standards.
IEB, a signatory to the globally recognised Washington Accord, plays a key role in benchmarking engineering education. With this accreditation, Stamford University’s EEE programme has gained international acceptance, potentially enabling its graduates to pursue higher education and professional opportunities both at home and abroad with greater ease.
University authorities stated that the achievement reflects the collective efforts of faculty members, students and administrative staff. It also underscores the institution’s commitment to continuous academic improvement, innovation, and the implementation of outcome-based education.
Stakeholders believe that this recognition will further strengthen the department’s research capabilities, enhance its engagement with industry, and open avenues for increased international collaboration in the years ahead.
